I don’t know about you, but my past few Mother’s Day have always been stressful. Running from home to home, making sure that every mother is taken care of and feels special. What about me? I’m a mom and instead of being pampered I end up being stressed and exhausted by the end of it. This year, I’m taking back Mother’s Day and you should too! Because of this, I’ve come up with a list of the top 7 things you could do with your mom this Mother’s Day. Bring all the mothers in your life.
Check out what’s blooming at the Arboretum. The arboretum has tons of different walking paths to take advantage of. If you don’t want to walk it, they also have their 3-mile drive you can cruise around on.
Walking Around A Lake
Talk a stroll around one of the many lakes with your mom. Lake Harriet during the summer is always very popular.
Tour a Vineyard –
Visit one of the many vineyards in the State. A lot of them are a short distance from the Twin Cities. Depending on your mom, you could always get a Wine Passport. This will allow you guys to stop into 10 different locations for free wine tastings. There are 38 different locations that participate and the passport only expires once you’ve filled it up. http://mnwine.org/wine-trails/
Let your creative juices start flowing and attend a Paint Night. Pick a painting based on your experience level. Don’t worry, if you haven’t held a brush in years, they will teach it all to you. For those that don’t like to follow the directions, feel free to make your canvas your won. I guarantee that you will have a great time.
Raise Some Money
This year will mark the 24th Annual Race for the Cure event held on Mother’s day. Even if you don’t want to walk, you can also do the Sleep in for the Cure. Since the event started in Minnesota, they have been able to award over 15 million dollars in research grant money. If you have never experienced this race before, you should. It is inspiring to watch all the people walking, especially when you see the survivors there. http://www.komenminnesota.org/
Can you think of a better way to spend the day? I know I can’t. There are many locations that will offer couple’s messages. Trust me, there is nothing better.
See what’s playing at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. They are always featuring new shows. Check with their Box Office for tickets. https://www.chanhassendt.com/Online/default.asp
