My Favorite Travel Finds of 2017. Plus your chance to win some in the a Minnesota Prize Pack Giveaway

6 Of My Favorite Travel Finds | Plus Giveaways

This year has been amazing. I traveled all over the state. I’ve gone North, East, South, and West. I let my husband talk me into some crazy adventures and I’ve even ridden out a Hurricane.

All of this would not be possible if I didn’t have such an amazing family and supportive group of readers. Along the way, I’ve found a few travel finds that made the whole journey a little easier.

I’ve been on a mission to purchase only things that I really need and to focus more on quality than quantity. I’ve found some amazing things that I cannot live without.

Since the holiday season is upon us, I wanted to share my favorite finds and give one lucky reader the opportunity to win a few of my favorite travel finds.

6 Of My Favorite Travel Finds This Year

The MN Wine Passport

As a MN wine lover, I’m in love with my wine passport. This passport is only $25 and gets you 10 free tastings at over 48 wineries in Minnesota and even a few in Wisconsin.

In addition to tastings, passport holders can also get great discounts on wine purchases.

The passport doesn’t expire until you’ve reached your 10 punches. I purchased one of these last year’s for Christmas and she took my father on a road trip through MN. She’s halfway done with it already.

I even joined her on a few during the wintertime. The passport is sponsored by the Minnesota Grape Growers Association and is a must-have for the avid wine drinker.

Messenger Bag

I’m always on the hunt for the perfect bag. I’ve messed around with backpacks, saddlebags, purses, and even the diaper bag, but none ever seemed to fit.

Whenever I go to a department store, I end up in a collection of leather handbags. Those just aren’t my style and they defiantly are not practical. But recently I just found this amazing messenger bag from the FrostRiver Company in Duluth.

The bag is big enough to hold an ipad or laptop, but flexible enough to carry my cameras safely depending on my journey. And its hands-free, freeing me up to focus on the adventure.

Lumina Ultra Compact Portable Battery

On the road, you never know when you are going to drain your battery. That’s why I never leave without my Lumina Portable Battery charger.

There are tons on the market but this one is my favorite. It’s a great value at under $30 and can give your phone a charge in only an hour. I’ve been able to charge my iPhone well over 6 times before needing to recharge the battery.

When I’m on longer trips, this is a lifesaver. I just throw my phone on charge in my bag and I’m good to go.

Action Camera

Some have you may have noticed that I’ve started to do more with video this year. That is because I got an AKASO EK7000 4K Action Camera.

You can spend more money on the original Go Pro, but online comparisons show it is the same quality at a fraction of the cost. It’s a great model if you are thinking about getting started.

The camera uses all the same accessories as a GoPro, so they are easy to find. It takes video and still photos. I’m actually thinking about getting a second one so I can do multiple angles.

How To Talk Minnesotan by Howard Mohr

How to Talk Minnesotan is really entertaining. From speaking in double negatives to basic conversation starters, this book has it all. Before reading this book I never realized how complex and foreign some of our talks can be and I even catch myself doing it at times.

They did a great job of expressing our love of one-upping the extreme weather we get. “Remember the Halloween Blizzard of 1991?” Yep, we do it all the time.

People that are from here or have recently moved here will get a kick out of it. It’s also a great stocking stuffer, secret Santa, or white elephant gift!

Sota Clothing

Any good northerner should have a MN Shirt in their wardrobe. That is why I have at least 6 different Minnesota Shirts, not counting my Twins Gear, in my closet. My favorite one has to be from the SOTA Clothing brand.

They are a local company that makes Minnesota-inspired clothing. They have many different styles to choose from but my favorite is the Logan Black Long Sleeve shirt.
