Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board Review: Best iSUP

Looking for the best stand-up paddle board (SUP) on the market? You need to try the Goosehill Sailor inflatable stand-up paddle board!

This board has it all – a custom-fit deck that is durable and easy to use, a comfortable, stable ride, and an affordable price tag.

We own two of these Goosehill Sailor Inflatable SUP now. We received the first one in exchange for a review and I fell in love. I decided to get one for my husband too.

This past summer I spent every Tuesday on a paddle board, relaxing on the water. It was amazing to get the chance to de-stress during the week.

My husband and I loved it so much, we’ve been in the market for a set of Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle boards to take with us for our adventures!

With late-season deals in full swing, we snagged one for ourselves. The only problem was, it is October in Minnesota.

With warm days slipping away, I jumped at the chance to get our Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board on the water before the water turns fridge!

What is the Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-up Paddle Board Made of?

Goosehill Sport Sailor iSUP is made with SCE Technology which combines a laminated layer and strong drop stitch core to create a durable and rigid paddle board.

This innovative construction makes the Sailor ISUP one of the strongest and most durable paddle boards on the market. Plus, the rainbow design is sure to add some style to your watery adventure.

The deck of the paddle board is made with a soft EVA foam that enhances the grip and your balance on the water. The deep diamond patterns provide plenty of room to drain the water off the surface, giving you plenty of space to get stable.

The rail has two layers of strong PVC material to enhance the board’s stiffness.

Key Features of the Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-Up-Paddle Board

Maneuverability

The Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board is designed for all paddlers. The additional fins provide stability, ensuring that the board maintains a straight course. The rounded noes make it a great all-around paddle board.

It is meant to bless lakes or flow peacefully in a river. The nose is slightly out of the water, pushing the water down making it better on waves.

Any skill level can handle it, even kids. The superb maneuverability of the board is what I love! Because it doesn’t have a pointed nose, it is not designed for speed.

Stability

It’s a great beginner board with a base that’s it’s 2 inches wider than that standard. This makes it easier for beginners who are getting started learning to paddle.

The two inches gave me so much more stability. It’s also great if you are looking to do yoga or other activities on the board.

When inflated property, the board is hard and easy to stand up on. I do recommend inflating it all the way if you intend to stand up.

We had ours slightly under-inflated on our first run and you could feel slight shifts under your feet. It was at 11-12 PSI. The board recommends being closer to 15 PSI.

Glide Performance

The paddle board is destined for beginners and slides through the water with ease. In addition to the 9″ fin on the back, it’ also has two smaller fins to keep you straight.

The nose shape is rounded making it easy to maneuver over waves.

Bungies Cord

The bungee cord on the front of the Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board makes it easy to store a dry bag or clip a water bottle in with you.

It’s always important to stay hydrated! Or slip your paddle in for storage while you jump in the water.

I also recommend getting a small keyholder and attaching it to the board while you paddle. This way your keys don’t end up at the bottom of the lake.

Portability

The board is easy to maneuver and get around both inflated and in the bag. The center carrying handle made it easy to get into the water. I found it very light and easy to maneuver. Compared to a traditional paddle board, this was less awkward.

The paddle board is easy to fit in the bag when deflated. Roll it up and secure it with the strap. No need to roll it multiple times to make sure you’ve got the size right.

The inflatable SUP is easy to throw into the camper, or back seat of a car or even check it on an airplane for any adventure.

Ease of Inflation

The Goosehill Sailor inflatable stand-up paddle board comes with its own double-action pump. The pump has its own pressure gauge so you know how far to inflate it. You want it between 11-15 PSI with it clearly marked on the pump. It takes approximately 5-7 minutes to inflate.

You’ve got all the tools needed to inflate. The hose twists into the valve. Make sure the red valve at the top of the in an upward position allows air to enter and not release.

I’m not going to lie, it was a workout to inflate. It takes about 5-7 minutes to reach full PSI. It was exhausting. Either that or I’m just out of shape.

I also didn’t love the stiffness in the hose. If you have multiple boards for your family, I recommend getting an electronic pump. We found this electric pump will fill your board 1 level of PSI a minute. So 15 minutes to fill.

To deflate the Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board, make sure the center red valve is down, releasing the air.

When it stops the initial hissing, roll up the bottom of the board to slowly deflate. After you’ve gotten the bulk of the air out by hand, reverse the pump to get the last bits of air out.

It takes about 3 minutes to fully deflate and pack away.

Accessories

Adjustable Paddle

The Goosehill Saidlor iSUP comes with a 3-piece aluminum adjustable paddle. It is a breeze to assemble. What I love is it has a track that secures the paddle and prevents any twisting when in use.

It is adjustable from 35″ to 98″. The paddle will sink if left in the water for an extended amount of time.

Paddle Board

Removable Center Fin

The paddle board has a removable center fin that slips in. It has a pin to secure it in place while in use. It’s best to inflate the board halfway and then insert the fin. Otherwise, it’s a bit of a tight fit.

Safety coiled SUP leash

The board comes with a coiled safety code that’s easy to attach to the D-ring. This is a great safety feature, especially on a windy day.

While I don’t typically use an ankle leash, I could see myself using it on choppier water with an inflatable paddleboard. I also insist the kids wear it at all times.

Backpack carrying case

To make things easy, it comes with a great quality backpack carrying case. It has plenty of room to store all the paddle board gear as well as additional towels and other things you need for your adventure.

The carrying backpack is 37.4″ x 17.7″ x 11.8. The pack has both backpack straps with a hip belt and a side strap to carry it like a duffle.

I have another budget-friendly paddleboard for the kids and the bag are junk. I store two boards the Goosehill bag, and use their bag for life jackets and other gear. If for the bag alone, it’s worth the few extra dollars to get a Goosehill.

Repair Kit

In case anything does come up, the Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board includes a repair kit. There are tips and tricks to fix anything ongoing. The kit is held inside an orange tube.

You’ll find a valve wrench and PVC patches. The valve wrench is used to tighten the inflation value but gets loose over time.

Value of the Goosehill Sailor iSUP

As far as inflatable stand-up paddleboards go, you can spend as much or as little as you want. What I love about the Goosehill Sailor Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board is it’s in a family-friendly affordable price range.

While it may not be the cheapest middle out there, it is on the low end at around $300. This is something I could see myself getting more than one of so our family could all enjoy a paddle.

Plus the Goosehill Sailor inflatable paddle board comes with a three-year quality service guarantee.
