Often some of the most economical places to stay in Marco Island Florida include camping. On Marco Island, they don’t have any campsites, but there are a few options just off the island.

Beach Camping – Ten Thousand Islands

  Ten Thousand Islands

Ten Thousand Islands is a group of barrier islands between the mainland and the Gulf of Mexico. It has 35,000 acres of waterways and mangrove islets, the islands are part of the Everglades.

This is a great secluded place to camp at, located just south of Marco Island. Most of the islands are only accessible by boat. Camping south of Tiger Key requires a back-country permit for camping. You can get one on Recreation.gov.

Before doing any background camping on a beach, I highly recommend checking out Beach Camping Ten Thousand Islands. The ocean is unpredictable. It will be an experience like no other.
