In March 2024, Ventura made a huge announcement that he’s partnering with Columbia Heights-based Retro Bakery to launch; Jesse Ventura Farms; his very own line of cannabis edibles.

This partnership has been years in the making. Ventura’s son Tyrel revealed that the former governor interviewed hundreds of cannabis companies before selecting Retro Bakery, a Black-owned small business just miles away from where he raised his family.
Tyrel also shared that part of the deal involves donating a percentage of certain product proceeds to charities supporting environmental cleanup, veterans, and those harmed by the disastrous war on drugs.
A Longtime Cannabis Advocate
Ventura’s foray into the legal cannabis market should come as no surprise to those familiar with his stance on the issue. He has been an outspoken proponent of marijuana legalization for decades.
In 2023, Ventura testified at the Minnesota State Capitol about how cannabis helped stop his wife Terry’s seizures nearly 10 years ago. When the state finally legalized recreational marijuana in 2023, the Ventura’s were right there celebrating with Governor Tim Walz at the bill signing ceremony.
