Jesse Ventura Sparks Up the Cannabis Industry with New Brand
You read that right, folks – wrestling legend, actor, and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura is officially entering the cannabis game!
On Wednesday, Ventura made a huge announcement that he’s partnering with Columbia Heights-based Retro Bakery to launch “Jesse Ventura Farms” – his very own line of cannabis edibles.
In true Ventura fashion, The Body didn’t hold back in sharing his excitement:
“I can finally announce that today, Gov. Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura, is in the cannabis game. I can’t tell you how truly amazing this feels to legally share products from a plant that has had such an amazing impact on my life. Not to mention the historical significance of being the first U.S. Governor to officially put his name on a Cannabis brand.”
The Journey to Jesse Ventura Farms
This partnership has been years in the making. Ventura’s son Tyrel revealed that the former governor interviewed hundreds of cannabis companies before selecting Retro Bakery, a Black-owned small business just miles away from where he raised his family.
Tyrel also shared that part of the deal involves donating a percentage of certain product proceeds to charities supporting environmental cleanup, veterans, and those harmed by the disastrous war on drugs.
A Longtime Cannabis Advocate
Ventura’s foray into the legal cannabis market should come as no surprise to those familiar with his stance on the issue. He has been an outspoken proponent of marijuana legalization for decades.
Last year, Ventura testified at the Minnesota State Capitol about how cannabis helped stop his wife Terry’s seizures nearly 10 years ago. When the state finally legalized recreational marijuana, the Venturas were right there celebrating with Governor Tim Walz at the bill signing ceremony.
As Ventura proclaims on his website, this partnership with Retro Bakery marks “a monumental moment for cannabis legalization.” With Jesse Ventura Farms, he aims to offer top-quality cannabis products while fueling his passion for ending “this tragic and dangerous war on drugs.”
