Big Renovation Plans Unveiled

Under new ownership by Odyssey Resorts, big renovation plans have been unveiled for this beloved Brainerd Lakes area getaway. Several of Ruttger’s classic lakeside cabins will be torn down and replaced with brand new lodging built for modern travelers, while still capturing that perfect “Up North” vibe.

The entire outdoor pool area is also getting remodeled from top to bottom, creating an enhanced aquatic experience for families to enjoy. And in addition to the existing dining spots, Ruttger’s will gain a new bar called “Hibert’s” – giving guests another fun place to gather for food, drinks and socializing after a day on the lake.

Renovations Happening in Phases

The renovations at Rutter’s Bay Lake Resort are being handled by local firm Nor-Son Construction in phases. The new cabins and remodeled pool areas are slated to open in June, while Hibert’s bar is targeted for an Oktoberfest unveiling in the fall.

Upholding a Minnesota Legacy

Odyssey Resorts‘ CEO Howard Anderson said they’re thrilled to uphold Ruttger’s storied legacy while modernizing the property: “The cabins, swimming pools and new bar will fit seamlessly into the property and create even more fun family vacation memories for our guests. It’s going to be a great summer at Ruttger’s!”

Nostalgic Excitement Builds

As a born-and-raised Minnesotan, I have so many great memories of summer stays at Ruttger’s from my childhood. Seeing this iconic lakeside resort get renovated while keeping its vintage charm is exciting news. I can’t wait to check out the new amenities and make more #UpNorth memories there this summer.
